When picking this tea it is the Souchong leaf that is taken (the riper, larger leaves from the lower parts of the tea bushes), not the youngest leaves and the bud. After fermentation, these leaves are put on hot iron pans and roasted for a short time. The tea is then smoked over exotic woods rich in resin. Our Lapsang Souchong is beautifully smoky with a large, open, black leaf. The taste will warm you, even on a cold Winters day.
Bonfire night in a cup. This smoky tea will lift your spirits and warm you through and through.
